| Descripion | PHP/Database Programmer Overview Do you want to play fantasy sports all day for your full time paying job?! New web and mobile startup seeking experienced employees to fill key roles – Web Developer (PHP/ MySQL), QA Engineer (web oriented), Biz Dev (sports oriented), and Sports Analyst. Job Description Company is seeking a highly motivated web developer proficient in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, Ajax, and a variety of web technologies. Applicant will establish the foundations of the company and implement the next generation web features. Applicant must also be comfortable working in a startup environment. Responsibilities * Develop and manage projects through the software engineering life cycle. * Create functional designs based on requirements. * Determine technical needs and create specifications based on functional designs. * Develop, evaluate, update, and maintain object oriented applications using both proprietary and open source tools. * Design, build, change, and maintain databases. * Analyze existing code base and develop new modules and subsystems based on requirements. * Integrate database schema changes and data updates. * Integrate UI changes to existing code structure. * Perform unit testing. * Communicate with several functional teams such as QA, management, tech writers, build & integration, and support. * Create and maintain technical documentation such as technical specifications, user manuals, and source code comments. * Participate in code reviews, bug analysis, and feature brainstorming sessions. Required Skills and Experience * B.S. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Management, or related field. * 5+ years professional experience in a web development environment. * Highly proficient in Object Oriented PHP using frameworks such as CakePHP. * Highly proficient with MySQL. * Highly proficient with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX. * Extensive knowledge of both Linux and Windows workstations and servers. * Knowledge of Apache Web server. * Experience with Open Source. * Experience working with version control systems such as Clearcase, Perforce, CVS, or similar systems. * Knowledge and experience in the software development life cycle. * Experience working with offshoring resources. * Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal. * Must possess ability to work with minimal to no supervision.
