| Descripion | Java Reports Developer *Jasper 15446 Oregon-Portland Metro area Meridian Technology Group is seeking a Jasper Reports Developer for a 6+ month assignment in Portland. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Jasper Reports Developer, but we would be willing to consider other options. -You will be responsible for the development of reports and Oracle database objects to optimize report queries (e.g views, materialized views, and PL/SQL). -You will work with Business Analyst resources to create reports using Jasper iReport and enterprise JAVA code. Ideal candidate will have: -EXPERT level SQL skills. Ability to write efficient, scalable, and high quality SQL code for analytical reporting -Ability to write complex queries on large datasets -Experience with query optimization (including analysis with an Oracle Explain Plan) -Ability to develop a deep understanding of the business domain and data model and ensure that reports are a consistent and accurate reflection of the domain. -JasperReports experience (or willingness to learn) -Strong knowledge of Oracle database -Experience using source control systems, specifically Subversion (i.e. svn) Highly Desirable Skills: -Understanding Object Oriented Design and Development -Knowledge of JAVA -Knowledge of Spring Framework The following types of people could be successful in this role (assuming we can't find an exact match): -A Report Specialist who is more familiar with Crystal Reports, Cognos, etc, but is motivated to learn a new tool set (quickly). -A PL/SQL Developer who doesn't mind building reports as a primary responsibility. -A Data Analyst who has some exposure to JAVA and is motivated to transition to JAVA developer role eventually. -A DBA who has some exposure to JAVA and is motivated to transition to JAVA developer role eventually. -A junior JAVA Developer with a strength in SQL, who doesn't mind building reports as a primary responsibility.
