Descripion As a Senior PHP Developer, your duties will include:

• Meet with clients to understand their needs and discuss technical solutions
• Perform and oversee launches and updates; manage development process
• Design, architect and develop a new set of online transactional websites
• Develop and maintain the existing online set of products and services
• Produce documentation for software requirements and change requests
• Work throughout the full development life-cycle, using Agile development processes
• Develop and implement test plans including alpha, beta and unit testing
• Evaluate your code to ensure that it is optimized, thoroughly documented, properly
structured, meets industry standards and is compatible with browsers, devices or operating
systems. Use best practices for OOP and code re-usability.

To be considered for this position, you must have at least 2 years experience in a PHP development
role.

Experience with the following is also essential:
• Server setup and administration; Linux/Unix command line knowledge (LAMP stack)
• PHP 4/5 programming
• PHP Frameworks such as Cake and Zend
• MS SQL Server, MySQL or PostgresSQL
• JavaScript libraries and Ajax development e.g. JQuery, Prototype
• Coding standards-compliant HTML/CSS
• Version control systems (e.g. SVN, Git)
• Excellent skills in designing and building robust database solutions using MySQL, and/or
PostgresSQL.

Desirable Skills:

• Some design ability and a basic understanding of on-site SEO techniques would be
beneficial but not essential.
• Will ideally also have experience in setting up and maintaining Linux and Windows servers
and have specific knowledge in setting up and maintaining Apache, MySQL and PHP.
• Ideally an understanding of key programming principles, methodologies and design patterns
including OOP and MVC pattern and their application with PHP.
